YOGA NIDRA (or yogic sleep) is a powerful meditation tool that takes practitioner to a state of consciousness between being awake and asleep. Nidra is very easy to practice - you just need to lie in a comfortable position and follow the instructions given by the teacher :). Benefits of yoga nidra:

Yoga nidra may, but don't have to, begin with a short warm up sequence. After that the student is asked to lie down, close eyes / soften the gaze, and ensure that he or she stays warm and comfortable for the next 30 - 40 minutes. Movement is discouraged throughout the practice.
Teacher will ask the student to set intention for the practice, concentrate on breath, move awareness through different parts of the body, and visualize things or / and sensations.
When the practice is finished, teacher guides the student back to the aware state.

Sankalpa
An interesting part of yoga nidra is Sankalpa – a wish directed to your mind in the alpha state.
It may be as simple as to recharge your body, but you may also ask your subconsciousness for healing, inspiration in making a difficult choice or having a dream which would reveal a solution to your problem. The choice is yours, and your relaxed mind will eagerly support you.
